Auroracam @ Evatun – Dagali
Dagali, Buskerud, Norway
Private all-sky camera at Dagali on the edge of Hardangervidda, southern Norway.
Northern lights cameras in Norway on one page, each with the aurora score where it stands.
Northern Norway sits right under the aurora oval, from the Lofoten and Vesterålen islands up to Tromsø, Lyngen and Alta in Finnmark. The coast is mild for the latitude but cloudy, so a webcam is the quickest way to see whether the sky over a fjord or mountain pass is clear before you drive out.
Most cameras here are Statens vegvesen road cameras on mountain passes and ferry quays, shown under the Norwegian open-data licence (NLOD), plus a handful of YouTube live streams from aurora camps. The season runs from late August to mid-April; in Tromsø the sun stays below the horizon from late November to mid-January.
51 cameras in our catalogue: 8 live streams, 24 open-licence stills and 19 on operators' sites.
