About

What is Aurora Webcam Watch?

Aurora Webcam Watch is a non-profit, public-interest project for anyone who wants to see the aurora. It tries to answer one question honestly: can I see the aurora from here tonight?

We combine space weather, cloud forecasts, darkness, moonlight and light pollution into a single 0–100 score, alongside live webcams, destination guides and plain-language explanations in Turkish and English.

Our principles

• Free. All content and alerts are free. There is no paid tier.
• No ads. We don't show advertising.
• No affiliate links. We earn no commission from any tour, hotel or product we mention.
• No tracking cookies. We use no advertising or profiling cookies or trackers. See our privacy notice.
• Honesty. We say when we don't know, and we cite our sources.

The score is an estimate

The visibility score is an estimate based on the best open data, not a guarantee. Space weather forecasts and cloud models can be wrong, and the aurora often flares up or fades unexpectedly. We explain how the score works here. When planning a trip or heading out at night, also trust your own eyes and local conditions.
