Svalbard aurora webcams

Northern lights cameras in Svalbard on one page, each with the aurora score where it stands.

Svalbard lies north of the main aurora oval, at about 78° N. In the polar night, from mid-November to late January in Longyearbyen, the sun never rises and the daytime aurora of the cusp region can be seen at midday, which almost nowhere else on Earth offers.

Few cameras on the archipelago are open to the public; the observatory camera listed here links to the operator's own pages. Northern Norway's cameras are a good fallback for the night sky further south.

1 cameras in our catalogue: 0 live streams, 0 open-licence stills and 1 on an operator's site.
